Current Need
Supply Chain / Procurement Specialist (fluent in English, French, German)
Position Description
To work at client premises as part of a project team to identify, agree and generate measurable benefits with a specific emphasis on supply chain and procurement:
Procurement:
- Quickly request, cleanse and segment client spend data
- Articulate the different category management approaches based on market forces
- Articulate opportunities for different negotiation strategies
- Differentiate between tactical and strategic for both purchasing and spend analyses
- Understand procurement activities and skills required and existing in procurement teams
Supply Chain:
- Quickly evaluate existing supply chain structure and recommend changes to optimize performance including H/R Organization and interfaces between operating units
- Evaluate strategic sourcing and make-buy decisions
- Evaluate the impact of part / product obsolescence
- Evaluate transportation costs and identify opportunities for optimisation
- Evaluate warehouse operations and variances between planning and actual execution
- Develop an optimal supply chain operations design and integrate into Alexander Proudfoot methodologies for process and management operation systems improvements
- Accurately analyse work processes, systems, and/or organisational structures using interviews, observations, data and statistical analysis studies and other techniques to determine where and how to generate measurable improvements for clients
- Generate client buy in to install changes in processes and systems to realise measureable improvements within an 8-week time frame
- Train client individuals and task forces in the effective use of management systems, tools, techniques, group problem solving, team building and consensus development skills, to install the appropriate application of the Proudfoot methodology
- Prepare and conduct meetings and one-on-one interfaces with client and colleagues to ensure the job key activities are completed
- Prepare written and oral feedback, presentation materials, critiques, systems documentation, process descriptions, evaluations, data summaries and reports using the appropriate company templates
- Initiate innovative solutions where required and work closely with colleagues and project management to ensure they are installed for the most effective client impact
- Communicate and coordinate all efforts with discipline and in accordance with the company values and ideals
- When required, assume the appropriate roles of facilitator, co-leader, presenter and / or trainer
- Leverage knowledge management databases to support activities
Requirements
- Fluency in English, French and German (written and spoken) is highly desired
- Degree in science, engineering or business + supply chain / procurement qualifications
- 3 - 5 years general business experience, with 2 years + in a supervisory or management role in a supply chain / procurement environment
- Numerate
- Strong business acumen
- Strong facilitation and persuasive skills
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, capable of communicating effectively across multiple levels of an organisation
- Ability to present thoughts clearly and with conviction
- Comfort and desire to work side-by-side with clients
- High proficiency with MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
- Ability to travel 100%
- Valid passport and ability to work on overseas assignments
